Corporate Karaoke: PowerPoint

Seth Godin is one of the world’s greatest marketing thought leaders and I so enjoy seeing him present live. He was the featured speaker for a Webinar called “The Future of Marketing: Being Remarkable and the Meatball Sundae.” It was full of great information.

What it was NOT full of was great visuals. Seth barely avoided delivering “death by PowerPoint” by presenting plain black and white slides with a single line headline and no more than 6 bullet points - just like the rules tell us. And with e-tickets, online check-in, and printable boarding passes, it can be a challenge to print them out “on the road.”

Now I’ll just flash my iPhone and all will be well! (Read the article)

More G-Speak - Taking the Gloves Off

Just a few days ago, I waxed rapsodic about Oblong Technologies’ Gesture Technology à la Minority Report, and today I discover that the Germans did it first and better!

Fraunhoffer HHI demonstrated the iPoint Presenter - the mouse of the future - an input device for contact-free “multipointing” user interaction at WIRED NextFest 2008, an exhibit that ran from September 27 - October 12, in Chicago. (Read the article)
