Twitter in the Real World – Chalkbot
During the Tour de France, a lumbering 1-tonne (that’s 2,200 pounds), message-writing robot printed messages with water-soluble yellow paint on the pavement where bicyclers and their fans could read them.
The Chalkbot only prints 40 characters at a time, so the messages were short – 100 fewer than Twitter – and to the point!
The project was a joint promotion between Nike and Lance Armstrong’s Live Strong Foundation.
