Virtual Keyboard - Hey, Apple, I need one for my iPhone!
Don’t get me wrong, I love my iPhone! Even after paying the “early adopter” premium… Even after seeing “remanufactured” units for less than half what I paid…
But I hate its fussy little “touch pad” keyboard. Ick! Could a “virtual keyboard” be the way around my problem?
I’ve tried all kinds of ways to deal with those teeny-tiny keys. I had an HP PDA years ago (pre-iPAQ - Axiom, I think it was called) and bought a fold-out “butterfly” keyboard to use with it. It mostly worked.
With a couple different versions of the Treo, I was able to type at a pretty fast clip using my thumbs. It had “real” keys, after all.
Now with my iPhone I’m “all thumbs” with just one finger; more back spacing than you can imagine! All you Blackberry users can laugh now!
For Christmas, I would like Apple to make it possible to use this virtual keyboard with my iPhone and iPod Touch; not a lot to ask is it? It connects via Blue Tooth and it’s not terribly expensive - just about $150. So what do you say, Steve? Want to play Santa?
According to the seller, this tiny device laser-projects a keyboard on any flat surface. Then you type on the image of a keyboard and even get “simulated key click sounds!”
Christmas is only 278 days away!
