Microsoft Surface Becomes Touch Wall
Has Microsoft flipped its lid? Probably not, but the Surface is going to become the Wall (actually, Touch Wall) for use in schools, board rooms, and small businesses. The Touch Wall is essentially a Surface flipped on its side and mounted. These are just a few if the finger-friendly prototypes that Microsoft Research is working on. They are apparently also working on a spherical unit!
Watch Bill Gates demonstrate the Touch Wall at the Microsoft CEO Summit 2008, May 14, 2008.
Perceptive Pixel beat them to the commercial market, though. For Christmas last year (2007), you could have gotten yours - a 3 ft by 8 ft wall-sized touch panel - for a mere $100K from Neiman Marcus. Where else??
Short some change? Just wait the price should come down soon…
